Francis Fourie
Managing Director | Architecture & Urban Design | Full-Time
Francis Fourie has 21 years’ experience of working extensively on the built environment both nationally and internationally (Asia & South Pacific), the last ten years of which were spent at senior managerial level. He currently serves as Managing Director for the disciplines Architecture & Urban Design of Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design, a small international multi-disciplinary practice. Francis oversees the Pretoria Head Office but also travels extensively throughout all the studios to ensure all projects comply with the highest design and delivery standards. Francis also serves as Head of Architecture & Urban Design for Vitruvius Collective (of which Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design is a founding member).
Ludwig Jooste
Director | Architecture | Full-Time
Ludwig has 35 years’ experience of working as an architect on large scale developments both nationally and internationally (Europe & North Americas), the last ten years of which were spent at senior managerial level. He holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture. He currently serves as Director for the discipline Architecture of Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design. Ludwig is also responsible for overseeing the conceptual design and design development of projects as well as for the financial packaging of projects for the achieving of obtaining project viability and finance.
Nelius Du Toit
Associate Partner | Senior Architectural Technologist | Full-time
Nelius is registered as a Senior Architectural Technologist, who studied at Tshwane University of Technology and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Technology in the year 2015 He currently holds the position of Associate Partner at Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design. He oversees all projects as technical project lead.
Carol-Anne Haupt
Draughts Person | Freelance
Carol-Anne is a Senior Draughts Person with 12 year’s experience. The projects he has have been exposed to are of Residential (small and large scale), Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial and Educational. Carol-Anne’s areas of excellence are Working Drawings, Site Inspections, Technical detailing, Town Planning and Municipal Council Liaison, Site Development Plans for local authorities approval and Municipal council submissions drawings. Carol-Anne handles all Planning Disputes and Planning Tribunals for Practice.

Gugulethu Bohali
Associate Partner | 3-D Specialist | Full-Time
Gugu is an accomplished 3-d Artist. He currently holds the position of Associate Partner at Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design. He oversees the all Urban Design Master Planning projects and Bulk Modelling. Gugu is involved with all strategic projects and decisions in the company.
Gerdus Kriek
Associate Partner | Senior Architectural Technologist | Freelance
Gerdus is registered as a Senior Architectural Technologist, who studied at Tshwane University of Technology and obtained a bachelor’s degree in design in the year 2011. He currently holds the position of Associate Partner at Fourie | Architecture + Urban Design. He oversees all projects as technical project lead.
Jaco Swanepoel
Landscape Architecture, Environmental and Safety Systems Consultant | Freelance
Jaco holds a bachelor’s in Construction from the Tshwane University of Technology. Over the past 20 years, Jaco has specialized in environmental and landscape architecture construction and design. He also advises on green technologies and ecological rehabilitation, urban forestry and safety and security systems. Jaco acts as a consultant on all Landscape Architectural designs.
Istell Orton
Senior Town & Regional Planner | Urban Designer | Freelance
Istell Orton is a registered Professional Town and Regional Planner who holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning which she obtained from the University of the Free State in 1999. Over the past 21 years, she has found her niche in strategic planning and has been involved in a number of high profile development projects. In addition, she is a keen researcher and completed a research project for the Gauteng Premier on Progressive Land Use Models.
